FINANCE/BUDGET COMMITTEE

The Finance Committee is responsible for recording, documenting and accounting for all revenue received and disbursed by the Church. On behalf of the Finance/Budget Committee, the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and the Financial Secretary will prepare and submit any and all required reports, including the annual budget, detailing a true and accurate accounting of the Church’s overall financial condition. Additionally, the Finance Committee shall arrange for an external audit, performed by a certified public auditing firm, to be conducted every three (3) years.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

The Scholarship Committee administers the scholarships available through Second Baptist Church. The committee establishes the scholarship criteria, reviews all required information, and awards the scholarships. Currently, two scholarships are available: (1) The Dowdy / Robinson / Jackson / Logan Scholarship and (2) The Edith Busby Scholarship.
BENEVOLENCE COMMITTEE

The primary purpose of the Benevolence Committee is to provide governance, support and practices that guide Second Baptist Church in meeting the needs of Church members and the community, when possible, in receiving emergency assistance. Resources that are requested should not be a source for monthly and routine expenses. Benevolence requests should be directed to the Church Secretary during office hours, and an application must be completed and returned to the church for appropriate review, based on established guidelines
